Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), Greater Noida is one of the premier Engineering and Management institutes, managed by City Educational & Social Welfare Society. The Institute is duly approved by the AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is affiliated to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). At present, the Institute offers nearly 36 programmes at UG and PG level. These programmes are offered in a number of streams, including Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Computer Applications. NIET admission process is conducted through UPSEE for all the courses and its application window generally opens in the last week of January every year.

The Institute promotes innovation and start-ups by providing a platform for youngsters to create cutting-edge technology and enterprises through its NIET incubator. NIET also has a Pyramid Finishing School (PFS), where students are trained according to the industry requirements, not only in the areas of soft skills, life skills, technical skills and etiquettes but also, exposing them to time management, teamwork and project management. This process is initiated in the early semesters of the core programmes by blending it with their standard curricula. NIET Noida admission process is primarily based on the candidate's performance in UPSEE. The applications for UPSEE generally open in January every year, and its counselling concludes by June. However, this year, the admission process has been delayed due to Covid-19 outbreak. Some important facts related to the NIET Noida admissions are listed below:

• Apart from UPSEE, NIET also conducts its own entrance exam for accepting admissions to various UG and PG courses
• The Institute reserves 15% seats for management quota (direct admission)
• The application process is completely online

NIET takes admission from two sources:1. UPSEE Counselling: The student needs to appear for the UPSEE exam, which is followed by online counselling. He/she needs to select NIET as the preferred choice under the desired course of study.2. Direct Admission: The Institute has its own entrance exam which comprises the following:

• Objective-type aptitude questions
• English test
• Objective-type Math test for BTech applicants (Biotechnology applicants are exempted)

The exam is followed by a Personal Interview (PI). An admission committee constituted of senior management and faculty members, specialising in the respective field of study, reviews all the applications and test scores. The final decision for admission to all the programmes is based on a candidate's scholastic aptitude, performance in the selection rounds and suitability to take up the applied course, provided the candidate meets the eligibility conditions of that specific course. The selected candidates receive a letter from the registrar's office, notifying the admission status. 

The Institute offers UG programmes in the field of Engineering and Pharmacy. Admission to both the programmes is primarily conducted through UPSEE. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria of the respective programme before applying for admission to NIET.

Candidates seeking admission to NIET BTech or Integrated BTech+MTech programme must qualify UPSEE or the entrance examination conducted by the Institute. Additionally, candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for SC ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects in Class 12 in order to be eligible for the aforementioned programmes. The duration of the BTech programme is four years and that of the Integrated BTech+MTech programme is five years. The total seat intake for Integrated BTech+MTech course is 60 students. All 11 BTech specialisations, along with their seat intake are provided in the table below:

The Institute also accepts admission through lateral entry to the BTech programme. Candidates, who have passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering with a minimum 60% overall aggregate and 40% in Mathematics, are eligible to apply for NIET BTech lateral entry admission. Following are the three specialisations in which lateral entry is accepted:

NIET Noida BPharm admission is conducted through UPSEE, while that of DPharm is done on the basis of a candidate's merit in UPJEE. The course duration of BPharm and DPharm programmes is four years and two years, respectively. Both the programmes are duly approved by PCI. Additionally, the DPharm programme is also affiliated to Board of Technical Education (BTE), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The minimum eligibility criteria required to take admission to these programmes and their respective seat intake are provided below:

For lateral entry admission to BPharm, the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Pharmacy, securing a minimum of 60% aggregate.

The Institute offers PG programmes in the streams of Engineering, Management and Computer Applications. It accepts admission to all these programmes based on a candidate's performance, either in UPSEE or the entrance examination conducted by NIET.

Apart from the performance in UPSEE, NIET gives additional weightage to candidates for their work experience. Those who have qualified CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT, are also given extra weightage in the admission process of MBA and PGDM. The duration of both programmes is two years. The PGDM programme is powered by Sunstone Eduversity and includes a nine-month of paid internship. The Institute offers six specialisations in MTech programme. Candidates, who have completed BE/ BTech degree in the relevant discipline, with minimum 50% aggregate, are eligible to apply for admission to NIET MTech programme. Candidates must qualify UPSEE in order to secure admission to this Institute. Alternatively, candidates can also appear for the entrance exam conducted by NIET Noida. NIET has a seat intake of 15 students per specialisation in the MPharm programme. The Institute offers three specialisations in MPharm, admission to which is carried out through UPSEE/ NIET-conducted entrance examination. The course duration of an MPharm programme is two years. The Institute accepts 60 students per batch in the MCA programme. Candidates must qualify UPSEE in order to secure admission to NIET MCA programme. The Institute also has an option of direct admission wherein a student has to appear for a PI round after screening and verification of application form and documents.
