R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, inaugurated in 1916 under the then British rule, is one of the esteemed medical institutions based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The institute is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is ranked 22 under private medical colleges in the India Today 2019 ranking.
