About
Yogi Vemana University, which was initially a part of Sri Venkateswara University, is now a newly founded university situated in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The university derives its name from the famous philosopher, social reformer and thinker Yogi Vemana, who was a known Telugu sage and poet. The university campus spreads over a vast area of 150 acres. The university was established in the year November 20, 1977. It was authorized by the Andhra Pradesh Government through a Legislative Act of the Assembly of Andhra Pradesh on March 9 2006.
Yogi Vemana University Admission ProcessIt has a Public University status and is unitary and semi-residential in nature. The university offers programs in Humanities, Sciences and Modern Science and Technologies. The university caters to fifteen individual departments providing postgraduate programs in seventeen disciplines in the various fields of Humanities, Human Resources Management, Languages, Physical and Bio-Sciences, MBA and MCA, Bioinformatics, Earth Sciences, Biotechnology and Geoinformatics. The university also offers a 5-year M.Sc integrated program in Bioinformatics and Earth Sciences. It has achieved rank 92 in India's Top 100 universities and also has been accredited with Grade ‘B’ by NAAC - National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2007. The university was also accorded 2(f) recognition and in 2011, 12(B) status by the UGC - University Grants Commission.
