JSBF is NAAC accredited with Grade ‘A’ and was founded as a research-led, future-oriented and interdisciplinary global school focused on developing students for the financial services industry. The institute offers five programmes, BCom (Hons),  BA (Hons) in finance and Entrepreneurship, BCom (Hons) in Capital Markets, Global BCom (Hons) and MSc in Behavioural Finance to help the aspirants specialise in Banking and Finance so that they are exposed to limitless employment in top corporations. The programme is carefully designed to equip the students with knowledge and skills required for handling financial instruments and products in the modern global financial services industry.

The Global BCom (Hons) offered by the Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF) (in collaboration with Deakin University) employs a unique 2+1+1.5 structure. Students begin their academic journey at JSBF where they spend two years studying foundational and intermediate level courses and spend final year at Deakin University in Australia completing the requirements to obtain the Global BCom (Hons) from OP Jindal Global University and Bachelor of Business from Deakin University. Students continuing on to the Master’s programme will spend another 1.5 years at Deakin University pursuing their postgraduation at the end of which they will graduate with the MBA (International Business) degree in addition to the two undergraduate degrees

JSBF has developed its curriculum with the help of its several industry partners, including YES Bank, HDFC Bank, RBL Bank, etc. The course covers major topics of Financial Innovation through FinTech, Blockchain Technology, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. JSBF offers global education through its experienced faculty who have graduated from IIMs and IITs. The students are provided with broad as well as an in-depth educational experience and learning opportunities from distinguished industry professionals who visit the institute campus on a regular basis.

The institute focusses on both on theoretical principles of finance & accounting and rigorous practical skills to ensure a robust platform of learning for its students. Also, JSBF students benefit from various career development efforts made by the Office of Career Services (OCS). OCS organises several career-building workshops, guest lectures, industry talks, field visits to recruiters' workplaces, etc. to enhance résumé writing skills, communication and interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and industry intelligence of the students.

JSBF has forged more than 250 international collaborations with educational institutions in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, etc. to facilitate international student exchange programmes. Till date, JSBF has initiated 187 students and 180 faculty exchange programmes. It has also managed to intake foreign national students from 17 counties along with 71 faculty members from 15 countries across the globe. As a result, the institute offers opportunities for a dual-degree programme where students can spend one year of their course at a partner university. After successful completion of the programme, students are entitled to a degree undersigned by two reputed universities, equipped with the best of both. In addition to this, the students also have an opportunity to switch to another course from the range of programmes offered at distinct schools of JGU.

JSBF Admission Process

JSBF application process is conducted in online mode through its official website. Eligible candidates also have an option to register themselves and pay the application fee online by visiting the official website of JGU. Further, applicants are selected through a holistic admissions process conducted over three rounds as listed below:

  • Round 1: Personal statement and supplemental application screening, verification of Class 10 and Class 12 aggregate
  • Round 2: Interview with concerned faculty
  • Round 3: JSAT/ SAT/ ACT/ LSAT-India/ UGAT exam

JSBF accepts SAT, ACR, LSAT-India, UGAT score for granting admission to its three-year BCom (Hons), BA (Hons) and Global BCom (Hons) programmes however, admission to MSc in Behavioural Finance programme is offered basis students' performance in JGU Entrance Test or an equivalent (GRE/GMAT/CAT/XAT/MAT) examination, and a personal interview. For those candidates who do not possess scores in any of these exams, need to score more than 55 per cent in an in-house entrance test conducted by the institute, namely Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test (JSAT). JSAT is a Multiple-Choice-Questions (MCQ) test which has 120 questions and needs to be completed in 120 minutes. It is divided into three sections of 40 questions each, including English Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Skills.

  • JSAT Weightages English Verbal-50 per cent, Logical Reasoning-40 per cent and Quantitative Skills-10 per cent.

For International Baccalaureate (IB) candidates: Admission is based on aggregate obtained by eligible candidates in IB diploma programme

For Cambridge Board candidates: Admission is granted to the eligible candidates with a minimum of three subjects at the A-level

JSBF Courses

With a vision to impart quality education in the areas of Technology, Innovation, Analytics, Finance, Accounting and Banking, JSBF offers a three year (six semesters) BCom (Hons) and BA (Hons) programmes at UG level. In the first year of BCom (Hons) course, shortlisted students get an overview of fundamental skills and a basic understanding of Business Management and Finance. In their second year, students are exposed to Financial Instruments, Procedures, Credit Management and Financial Environment. In the final year of the course, students are allowed to choose electives as per their areas of interest. Students are also allowed for a semester exchange programme in the third year, depending on fulfilling the eligibility criteria of JGU, JSBF and host institution.

BA (Hons) is a unique programme that amalgamated the entrepreneurial skills and creative abilities with focused training in finance and practical knowledge of technology.

JSBF Placements

JSBF has an active and well-functioned Office of Career Services (OCS) that helps students to build their career portfolio and align with industry expectations. Through regular knowledge-based activities and events organised in partnership with reputed firms and institutions, OCS facilitates student learning beyond the classroom and create opportunities for internships and placements. OCS enables students to develop essential skills by encouraging and organising career counselling, professional development workshops, employability linked training and corporate grooming.

OCS also prepares students for interviews, help them to explore career options, identify their interest and to choose right career option through internship opportunities and student-centric workshops in soft skills and personality development training, mock interview and career counselling sessions. OCS also conducts industry interaction sessions and networking events by experienced professionals from diversified sectors. It also conducts CV reviews and guides students to write industry-specific cover letters and emails.

JSBF Scholarships

JGU centrally awards Merit-cum-Means Scholarships to the deserving students every year in the form of tuition fee waiver. Applications for the same are accepted from the first week of April and shortlisted students are awarded for the same in July. To be eligible for the scholarships, a student needs to have more than 80 per cent aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 along with annual parental income less than Rs 3 lakh and JSAT percentile more than 55 per cent.
