Master of Management Studies or MMS is a two-year post-graduate management programme, approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)
It is basically, a management course same as MBA. In some of the universities the post-graduate management degree courses are named MBA whereas in some it is name MMS. In India, most of the Maharashtra universities offer MMS instead of MBA.
The MMS programme is designed to develop business management skills and provide relevant training to individuals planning to make a career in the field. A candidate can pursue MMS right after Graduation. Just likeΒ MBA, the MMS programme is open to students from all streams (Science, Humanities & Commerce) and is a gateway to the corporate world. The course is imparted semester-wise. Two years are divided into six semesters, which include theory classes, practical projects and internships. The first year of MMS programme consists of subjects and topics designed to understand the basic of business administration and business management. In the second year, the candidates are given the option to study a specialization mainly, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Operations and Finance.
Job roles available to MMS graduates is same as MBA graduates, namely Business Consultant, Marketing Manager, Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager. The average starting salary of MMS graduate is INR 8.4 lakh per annum.

Admission to MMS is done on the basis of entrance exam score, personal interview and group discussion. Aspirants have to first clear the relevant entrance exam and then apply for admission.
