To participate in the counselling of Tripura NEET 2021, a candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

• The candidate must have qualified NEET 2021
• They must be a permanent resident of the state
• The candidate or his/her parent should have resided in the state of Tripura for a period of at least 10 years prior to the date of release of the application form
• Children of All India Service officers born in Tripura cadre or employees of Tripura state government posted out of the state can also apply for Tripura MBBS counselling
• Candidates who have completed class 12 from an institute in Tripura and their parent is currently working with the Tripura/Central Government are also eligible
• Children of ex-servicemen/defence personnel who have resided in the state of Tripura for at least 5 years prior to the date of release of the application form can also apply for the counselling of Tripura NEET

Tripura NEET counselling 2021 process involves various steps such as registration, submission of application fee and verification. Below are the steps involved in the Tripura NEET counselling 2021:

To participate in the counselling of Tripura NEET 2021, a candidate needs to register himself/herself on the official website of DME Tripura. Candidates who fail to register will not be considered for the Tripura NEET 2021 counselling process.

It is mandatory to pay the application fee for participating in the counselling of Tripura NEET 2021. The application fee has to be paid offline through a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director of Medical Education, Government of Tripura’, payable at Agartala.

The next step is the verification of the documents and checking the eligibility of the candidate. Candidate has to report with their documents, both original and self-attested photocopy, to the verification centre.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tripura, will prepare a merit list of the candidates who had registered for the counselling of Tripura NEET. The basis for the preparation of the state merit list will be the NEET 2021 All India Ranks of the registered candidates.

Tripura NEET 2021 seat allocation list will be uploaded on the official website of DME Tripura. The seat allocation list of Tripura NEET 2021 will be prepared based on the state merit list, the number of seats available and the choices filled by the candidates.

Candidates who have been allocated a seat have to report to the respective institute for confirmation of their admission. They also need to deposit the tuition fee for the first year of the course.

Candidates must note that there is no reservation for the candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category in Tripura NEET counselling 2021. Thus, an OBC category candidate will be treated as a general category candidate during the counselling of Tripura NEET 2021.

Q: What is the validity of the NEET Scorecard?

A: NEET Scorecard can be used for the current academic session in India but candidates who want to study abroad can use the same NEET scorecard for three years.

Q: Is there any limit in the number of attempts for NEET?

A: No. According to the regulatory body, there’s no cap on the number of attempts for NEET, but there’s an upper age limit.

Tripura NEET Counselling is expected to take place tentatively in the last week of January 2022. Tripura has 15 per cent reserved seats for candidates belonging to other States and is known as the All India Quota (AIQ). Below is the tentative schedule for each event for Tripura NEET counselling, candidates can refer to:

After the result announcement and the release of the cut-off list, Medical and Dental colleges across Tripura will start their Tripura NEET counselling process. The Tripura NEET counselling will be held in various rounds such as Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 (if the seats are left vacant). After the completion of Tripura NEET counselling round wise, various institutes also conduct their counselling at the college level to fill the remaining vacant seats (if any).

To participate in the State NEET counselling candidates have to register themselves first. Registration for Tripura NEET counselling will be done online and the form will be available on the official website of BCECE. The Tripura NEET counselling applications are now available on the official website of DME Tripura.

The candidates whose names will be on the list then have to report to the document verification centres if needed otherwise the documents verification will be done online. After the document verification process, the candidates have to fill their choice of colleges priority-wise. A provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates will be then released for the first round of seat allotment.

After this, the subsequent counselling rounds will take place depending upon the cutoff and availability of seats.
