BCECE - Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination

BCECE 2022 online registration process had begun on May 17, 2022 at the official website in online mode. The last date to apply for BCECE 2022 exam is June 6, 2022 (11:59 PM). Candidates can pay the application fee through challan after submitting the online application form. The last date to pay BCECE application fee via challan is June 8, 2022. Applicants can also make online payment via credit card/debit card/ New Banking/ UPI latest by June 9, 2022. 

The entrance exam, BCECE is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) for admissions to Agriculture and Horticulture Science courses. The entrance exam is held in a pen-paper based test mode and the exam duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes for each paper. There will be separate question papers for BCECE i.e. Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture and, each paper will carry 100 questions of total of 400 marks. 

Important Note: BCECE was previously conducted for Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy and Architecture, however, the exam was scrapped in 2019. Following this, BCECEB conducted counselling for Engineering and Architecture courses on the basis of JEE Main scores, and for Medical, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry courses on the basis of NEET scores.

The counselling process of BCECE 2022 will be conducted in an online mode. Candidates qualifying for BCECE 2022 will be required to participate in web counselling by registering and filling choices. BCECEB will then release the admission/ provisional seat allotment list for BCECE 2022 counselling. Candidates need to secure the allotted seat by choice locking and fee payment. 

The exam authority has announced the dates of the BCECE 2022 events. Given below is the table carrying important dates of the events.

The admissions will be done to 85 per cent of seats of the above-mentioned intake by each college on the basis of BCECE 2022 scores. 

The admit card of BCECE 2022 will be released after the BCECE 2022 application correction window closes. Candidates had to visit the official website and click on the link indicating BCECE 2022 Admit Card. They had to enter their login credentials, vis-a-vis username and password. The BCECE 2022 admit card carried information such as candidates' personal details, exam date and time, exam centre address, exam day guidelines and instructions, etc. It was a mandatory document to be carried to the test centre. The BCECE 2022 admit card is also one of the documents required during the counselling process.

The result of BCECE 2022 will be declared after the succesful conclusion of the exam in the form of rank cards. Candidates who had appeared for the exam had to visit the official website and click on the link indicating download of BCECE 2022 rank card, as per their stream of the exam they had appeared for. After this, they had to enter their BCECE 2022 Roll Number and date of birth from the drop-down box. After this, they had to click on the 'Show Rank' tab. Candidates had to download the Rank Card and preserve it till the admission/counselling process is over. 

The BCECE 2022 question paper will be released after the conduct of the exam. Since the exam is conducted in a paper-pencil based test, candidates are given the BCECE question paper after the test. Aspirants who plan to appear for the exam next year can also collect the previous years' BCECE question papers and sample papers for practice purposes. The exam authorities are also likely to release the BCECE 2022 question papers officially after the admission process is concluded. 

The answer keys of BCECE 2022 will be released online at the official website of the exam conducting body. However, last year it was released unofficially by coaching institutes or individual experts after the conduct of the exam. BCECE answer key refers to the correct answer options for each question. Based on the answer keys, candidates can calculate their estimated scores. in each section as well as overall and gauge their chances of admission.

BCECE 2022 syllabus is released by BCECEB along with the notification and information brochure of the exam. The syllabus of BCECE 2022 remained unchanged from that of the previous years. BCECE syllabus is in line with Class 11 and Class 12 level and has subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Agricultural subjects. While preparing for the exam, aspirants must be thorough with the syllabus and know the topic-wise weightage and devise the preparation strategy accordingly. 

The BCECE 2022 exam pattern states that it is a paper-pencil based test of 1.5 hours duration each for a total of five papers - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Agriculture and Biology. The medium of questions was English and Hindi. The questions were objective type with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four answer options. Each paper carried 100 questions of four marks each. There is a negative marking scheme of one mark for each wrong answer. Hence, the total marks of a paper was 400. Depending on the groups (PCM, PCB, CBA, MCA, MBA and PCMB), the total marks range between 1200 and 1600. 

The candidates seeking admissions to undergraduate science courses need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned below: 

• Candidates should have passed class 12th/ Intermediate or equivalent examination from the state board or any national board of education. 
• The candidates should have studied relevant science, mathematics and agriculture subjects in the qualifying examination. 
• The minimum age limit is 16 years as of August 31, of the examination year. There is no maximum age limit 

For engineering and medical courses, the eligibility criteria would be the same as for JEE Main and NEET respectively.

The admission process through BCECE 2022 will be conducted as under: 

Step 1: BCECE 2022 Application - Candidates interested in admissions through BCECE, first have to apply for the exam in online mode. The application form for BCECE 2022 was available on the official website of the exam board. The application process for BCECE 2022 included registration, filling in academic and personal details, uploading documents and fee payment. Candidates have to pay the application fee as under: 

Step 2: Download BCECE 2022 Admit Card - Candidates who had applied for the entrance exam were issued BCECE 2022 admit card for appearing in the entrance exam. The admit card mentioned the candidates' name, roll number, exam centre name and location etc. Candidates needed to download their admit cards from the official website by entering their login details. Candidates have to carry their admit card on the exam day along with a photo ID as validated by the government. 

Step 3: Appear for BCECE 2022 Examination - Candidates had to appear for BCECE 2022 as per the exam schedule mentioned on their admit card. The examination was held in a pen-paper based test mode. There were six different papers for all the streams and, each paper will be for 1 hour 30 minutes. Candidates should report their allotted exam centres at least an hour before the exam timings. 

Step 4: Check BCECE 2022 Result - BCECEB will announce the results for all papers after the exams are conducted. Candidates can check their qualifying status and marks in BCECE 2022 by logging in to the official website. BCECEB will also publish separate merit lists for all subject groups basis which admissions will be offered to different courses. 

Step 5: Appear for BCECE 2022 Counselling - Candidates need to participate in the counselling rounds of BCECE 2022 as per the merit list. The exam authority will allot seats at the participating colleges on the basis of the merit lists, eligibility criteria and reservation criteria. Candidates will be given a chance to mark their preferences from the list of colleges accepting BCECE 2022 scores. Moreover, candidates seeking admission to the reserved seats need to show the relevant documents at the time of counselling for verification. 

The centre list for BCECE 2022 is given in the table below. The centres were located in Bihar and two centres outside Bihar (Jharkhand and others).  

Candidates appearing for the entrance exam should be careful of a few things on the exam day: 

• They should report at the exam centre as allotted to them at least an hour or 15 minutes before the exam timings as under: 

• On the exam day, candidates had to carry their admit card of BCECE 2022 as allotted to them along with a valid photo ID proof
• Candidates should not have carried any electronic device or mobile phones/headphones or calculators on the exam day as it is not allowed inside the examination hall
• Candidates should not have carried any eatables inside the exam centre except for the water that may be allowed by the centre officials 
• In case of any discrepancy regarding the admit card or exam centre location, they should have got it clarified by the exam authority at least five days before the exam date
• Candidates had to follow the instructions of the exam centre officials to avoid termination from the exam centre 
• Candidates had to occupy the seat allotted to them carefully or the seat number will go wrong in the attendance sheet that may lead to candidature cancellation
• Candidates should have avoided any kind of unfair exam practices, maintain discipline and silence inside the examination hall while taking the exam

BCECE 2021 dates were released by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) in August, along with the official notification and information bulletin.
