GD Goenka DAT - GD Goenka Design Aptitude Test

GD Goenka has collaborated with United Institute of Design (UID) for giving admission to its Design courses. Candidates can visit the official website of GD Goenka university for more information. Earlier, GD Goenka used to conduct Design aptitude test (DAT) but now students need to appear for UID DAT to enroll in design programmes offered by the institute.

GD Goenka Group offers education in Fashion and Design disciplines, both at the UG as well as PG level. GD Goenka conducted a Design Aptitude Test (DAT) which was the means through which candidates can secure admission in Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Science + Master of Science (BSc + MSc, Dual Degree) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes.

The admission process at GD Goenka University was such that aspirants need to first clear the DAT. Candidates shortlisted in GD Goenka DAT then have to appear for a personal interview round. Apart from this, GD Goenka also accepts CEED as well as NID Entrance Exam scores for admissions. Candidates who are eligible for admission in design programmes on the basis of their score in CEED and NID DAT need to appear for the personal interview round as per the schedule shared with them so as to secure a seat for admission.

Step 1: Fill GD Goenka DAT Application Form

Candidates need to fill their application form for admissions at GD Goenka and submit the same at the below-mentioned address:

The GD Goenka DAT application form should be accompanied with a Demand Draft which is drawn in favour of GD Goenka University and is payable at New Delhi.

Step 2: Get GD Goenka Admit Card

The admit card for GD Goenka DAT is sent to candidates on the email ID mentioned in their application form. Aspirants need to take a clear print of their GD Goenka DAT admit card to their exam centre on the test day.

Step 3: Give GD Goenka DAT

The written test for admissions in design programmes will be conducted at GD Goenka University, Sohna Road, Gurgaon. DAT for GD Goenka admissions is a three hours duration paper.

Step 4: Appear for Interview Round

Candidates who have been shortlisted on the basis of their performance in DAT need to appear for Interview round to secure admission in design programmes offered at GD Goenka University School of Fashion & Design.

Step 5: Check GD Goenka Admission Results

The final result for admission in design courses offered at SOFD will be sent to aspirants on their respective email IDs. Further, an official letter confirming admission in the course of their choice will be sent to their registered address via courier. 

Candidates seeking admission in UG, as well as PG design programmes offered at GD Goenka School of Fashion & Design, need to fulfill all the eligibility criteria as mentioned by the college.

GD Goenka DAT Eligibility Criteria for UG Programmes

Candidates are eligible to apply for GD Goenka DAT if they have cleared their 10+2 from CBSE or any other equivalent qualifying examination (in any stream). Aspirants with a valid NID Entrance Exam score can also apply for admissions GD Goenka SOFD. Such candidates will not have to give GD Goenka DAT but will have to straight away appear for the interview round.

GD Goenka DAT Eligibility Criteria for PG Programmes

Aspirants are eligible for admission in PG courses offered at GD Goenka SOFD if they have completed their graduation or are about to appear in their qualifying examination which is of a minimum of three years full-time duration in streams such as engineering, architecture, design, art or a professional diploma in Design (from NID, CEPT or any equivalent college). Candidates can also seek admissions in PG design programmes offered at GD Goenka on the basis of their CEED scores. Such candidates will not have to give GD Goenka DAT but will have to straight away appear for the interview round.

GD Goenka DAT test centres have not been declared yet. However, usually the exam was held at GD Goenka University, Sohna Road, Gurgaon. Further, candidates need to appear at the GD Goenka University’s Gurgaon campus only for the interview round as per the schedule shared with them by the University.

The dates for 2021 exam are yet to be out. However, GD Goenka DAT is usually conducted by January end/February beginning every year.
