This year, the MCC announced changes in the All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling process. For NEET UG, the MCC conducted five rounds of counselling this year onwards, AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, Mop-up Round, an AIQ Stray Vacancy Round and a Special Stray Vacancy Round. The option to upgrade and free exit was allowed only in Round 1. After accepting the allotted seats, candidates were not allowed to resign.
