AKTU admission season usually commences in February every year. However, amid COVID-19 outbreak, the entire admission cycle is delayed. AKTU admission to various courses offered at UG, PG and doctorate level is granted either based on merit in previous qualifying degree/ exam or rank obtained by eligible candidates in UPCET. UPCET (previously known as UPSEE) is the official entrance exam of AKTU which is accepted by all the affiliated colleges of the University.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), has 49 affiliated colleges and 785 institutes under its name that offer a total of 25 UG, PG and PhD programmes across numerous specialisations and streams. Some of the most popular streams are Engineering, Business & Management Studies, IT Software, Medicine & Health Sciences, Design and Science. The University facilitates quality technical education and research in its own premises as well as all affiliated institutions.

*Admission to a few courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BA, BA (Hons), BCA, BBA, BCom, B.Lib.I.Sc., BJ and B.Ed, MSc, MA, MCom and M.Lib.I.Sc is merit-based. While, admission to remaining courses, including BDes, BPharm, BHMCT, BVoc, BFAD, BFA, MCA, MDes, MURP and M.Arch is based on UPCET scores 2021.

UPTU admission to all the above-mentioned programmes is done through an online application process. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria need to apply online through the admission portal of the University. The common AKTU application process is shown below:

Known earlier as UPSEE, UPCET is a gateway for candidates seeking admission to various professional courses offered at the UG and PG level at all affiliated institutes of AKTU, Lucknow, MMMUT Gorakhpur and HBTU Kanpur. The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in online mode, once a year.

AKTU Admission Dates 2022

Important dates regarding admission 2022 are as follows:

• Apart from academics, the University lays a very strong emphasis on the overall development of a well rounded personality of its students with both professional and emotional maturity
• International and national level conferences, seminars, workshops are organized regularly

AKTU offers UG programmes through its affiliated and associated colleges. AKTU BTech admission is based on JEE Main scores, whereas for other programmes, the university accepts  UPSEE scores followed by the UPCET Counselling.
