What's new at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK)? CUET UG registrations re-opened on May 27 and will remain open till May 31. The correction window is open from May 25 to May 31. CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in the first week of July. Meanwhile, the registrations for postgraduate admissions are open via CUET PG and the last date to register is June 18. Central University of Kashmir was established in March 2009 in Srinagar, Kashmir. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is accredited with a “B++” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Currently, the University offers UG, PG and PhD programmes under various streams, including Science, Technology, Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Application and more. These programmes are offered under nine constituent schools. It follows a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for the evaluation of all UG and PG programmes.

The campus of the University is well-equipped with basic facilities, such as labs, smart classrooms, a seminar hall, an auditorium, a library, hostels, transportation and more. One of the unique features of this University is a scholarship based coaching for civil services exam. The Department of Students Welfare (DSW) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) conducts an examination for this coaching. The University comprises nine schools, which are shown below:

The University offers more than 15 UG, PG, MPhil, and PhD programmes under its nine schools. Admission to all these programmes is conducted online through the official website of the University. Candidates can apply by registering for CUCET through the official website. Below mentioned are the course-wise details regarding Central University of Kashmir admissions:

UG Courses

• A valid score in JEE Main is required for admission to BTech programme
• Admission to BVoc is based on CUKAT scores
• BA LLB, B.Ed and Integrated BSc – MSc admissions are based on CUCET exam
• Candidates, who have completed Class 12, can apply for UG courses

PG Courses

• MBA admission is based on CMAT scores, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI)
• Admission to MA, MCom, MTech, MTTM, MEd, MPEd, LLM and Masters in Convergent Journalism is based on CUCET scores
• Candidates must have passed graduation in the relevant stream to apply for any of the PG courses

MPhil/ PhD Course

• MPhil/ PhD admission is based on NET JRF/ GATE/ UGC NET scores
• Candidates, who have completed master’s degree from a recognised university, can apply for PG programmes

PG Diploma Course

• PG diploma admissions are done on merit-basis
• A candidate must have completed graduation to apply for PG diploma programmes

At present, the University offers 14 UG and PG programmes. The duration of UG and PG programmes varies from course-to-course, whereas integrated programmes have a course duration of five years. Apart from this, it also offers MPhil, PhD and integrated MPhil – PhD programmes under several departments. It offers a part-time and full-time PhD with a minimum course duration of three years. Apart from the degree programmes, it also offers PG diploma in several streams. The details regarding some of the Central University of Kashmir courses and fees are given in the table below:
