Commonly referred to as IP University (or IPU), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers UG, PG and PhD programmes through more than 150 courses in over 15 streams. IPU CET is the official entrance and scholarship exam conducted by the University. The University invites applications for admission to all the courses generally in the first week of March every year. However, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the entire IPU admission cycle has been delayed. Admission to UG, PG and PhD programmes at IP University is done on the basis of qualifying exam marks or entrance exams, depending upon the nature of the programme.

College CutOff

What's new regarding IP University cut off 2021? IPU has released Round 1 cut off 2021 for a few of the Medical courses, including MBBS, BSc (Hons) Nursing, BAMS, BHMS on its official cut off website (www.ipu.admissions.nic.in/ipuadmiss). Meanwhile, the University has released all three cut off rounds for most other top courses, including BTech, MBA, MCA, LLM, MSc, MA, among others.

GGSIPU conducts Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) for admission to all its UG and PG courses (except for BTech, MBA and MCA). Admission to BTech is through JEE Main, for MBA, it is through CAT and for MCA, it is conducted through NIMCET. However, the varsity conducts IPU CET counselling on the basis of scores obtained by the students in respective entrance exams to grant final admission. This year, it is expected that the University will be releasing its cutoff 2021 in multiple rounds, namely Round 1, 2, 3, Sliding and Spot merit rounds for all the UG and PG courses. However, spot merit rounds will only be released in case there are vacant seats left after the sliding rounds. IP University releases its cutoffs in the format of closing ranks, on the basis of which students (from different categories) can take admission to various UG and PG courses across 120 colleges affiliated to it. Candidates, who wish to apply for IPU admission, can check the cut off 2021 details mentioned on this page. GGSIPU BTech cutoff 2021 is the minimum and maximum rank calculated after IPU CET counselling on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the students in JEE Main.

A. GGSIPU 2021 application process closed on August 10, 2021. However, the University is conducting IPU CET Counselling for seat allotment of the candidates in courses and colleges of their choice. Till now, for a few courses, Round 3 (Conversion Round) cut offs are already out and Spot Round Counselling is awaited. However, for its flagship course, BTech, Round 3 cut offs are expected to release soon.

Q. What happens in IPU Counselling?

A. After the declaration of IPU CET or nationa/ state entrance exam-based ranks, IPU conducts IPU CET Counselling for shortlisted candidates generally in three rounds which includes choice filling, seat allotment, fees payment, freezing of allotment, and withdrawal of admission.

Q. Is IPU CET easier than JEE Main?

A. Both IPU CET and JEE Main are equally difficult without adequate preparation. IPU CET tests candidates’ logical, reasoning, and analytical capabilities. Other than this, candidates need to be good in Mathematics and Science to do well in the entrance exam.

A. The main campus of GGSIPU offering MBA, namely University School of Management Studies (USMS) is known for high ROI, dedicated and qualified faculty and excellent placements.
