| Scholarship/Fellowship (a) Students are awarded scholarships/fellowships from the date of joining the Institute. The value of the scholarship/fellowship per month for students enrolled in different programs of the Institute is as given below. Ph D – Rs. 31000/35000 M Tech (Res) – Rs. 12400 M Tech/M Des – Rs. 12400 Integrated Ph D – Rs. 16000/31000/35000 (b) All the students who join the Institute (except for M Mgt programme) are eligible for scholarships/ fellowships from CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/AICTE/DAE (NBHM)/ DST as the case may be. Immediately on joining the Institute, the students are required to send the joining report within 15 days to the respective agencies concerned appropriately for activating their fellowships. Such students are entitled for payment of fellowship from the date of sanction from the respective agencies. IISc provides MHRD scholarships/fellowships for selected students whose mode of entry is GATE/JEST/JAM and ME/M Tech/M Sc(Engg) qualified. (c) Scholarships/fellowships from GE/ INFOSYS/ IBM/ HP/ TATA/ PHILIPS/ BELL LAB/ MICROSOFT/ Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DietY) are also available for deserving students. (d) Scholarships/fellowships are provided for a maximum period of 2 years in the case of M Tech (Res) and 5 years in the case of Ph D from the date of commencement of the session (1st August/1st January). (e) Students who join the M Tech/ M Des programs agree, by default, that they will not leave the course midway. In the case of unavoidable reasons/situations, they must refund the entire scholarship amount drawn by them before leaving the Institute. (f) Candidates who receive a salary from their Employers/Sponsors are not eligible for any scholarship. (g) Candidates admitted to M Mgt are not entitled to any scholarships. | Scholarship |
