Established under the West Bengal Act XIX of 2012, Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) is a public University in Asansol, West Bengal. It was named after the renowned Kazi Nazrul Islam and is one of the most respected universities of the state. Kazi Nazrul University was developed to offer quality education to the students of the state.
There are 14 Government degree colleges, 5 private non-aided institutions (self-financed), and 2 private non-aided Law colleges affiliated to the University. Admissions to Kazi Nazrul University has few highlights as listed below:

- Candidates seeking admission in undergraduate courses such as BA, BCom and BSc should have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% aggregate
- Admission to postgraduate courses such as MA based on a minim of 50% aggregate at UG level
- Candidates seeking admission to the MPhil or PhD or Integrated MPhil-PhD need to have a Master's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate. | Admission Details | Kazi Nazrul University admissions are open for PG courses till September 15. Candidates seeking admission can apply on the University official website. However, the application process for UG courses are closed on August 27. KNU offers a list of courses at the UG, PG, PG Diploma and PhD levels. KNU admission 2021 to most of the courses is entrance-based.
The University has also released the first provisional merit list of UG courses including five-year Integrated MSc course in Animal Science, five years BA LLB (Hons) and BCom LLB (Hons) courses. The last date to submit the fee for selected candidates is September 5. For Kazi Nazrul University BTech admission a valid WBJEE score will be required.
