Established in 2009, Nilamber-Pitamber University (NPU) is located in Palamu, Jharkhand. This University has gained approval from University Grants Commission (UGC) and offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral level. It consists of four constituent colleges, 16 affiliated colleges, three professional/technical colleges, one Law college and 14 colleges that offers courses in Education stream.

Nilamber-Pitamber University features five faculty covering specialisations like Science, Social Science, Humanities, Commerce, Engineering and Information Technology. Additionally, it offers soft skill-based add-on courses in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), one of its constituent colleges. Students can also apply for vocational courses in self-financed mode for programmes like MCA, Master in Journalism and Mass Communication, MBA at PG level and BCA, BBA, Bio-Technology at UG level.

Since this University has multiple departments, eligibility is set differently for different courses, as enlisted below:

• PhD: Admission to this course is done on the basis of a valid score in GATE 2020/ UGC NET 2020 / SLET 2020; students with MPhil degree along with relevant field experience are given preference
• BDS: University shortlists the candidates basis their JCECE 2020 / NEET 2020 scores
• MDS: Students need to have a valid JUPDCA 2020 / JCECE 2020 / NEET PG 2020 scores to qualify for admission to this PG course
• BTech: Admission is done on the basis of rank secured by candidates in JEE Main 2020 and JCECE 2020 for lateral entry
• MTech: Admission to this course is subject to a qualifying score in one among PGAT 2020 / GATE 2020
• MCA and MBA: Candidates are required to clear JCECE 2020 for securing admission to these courses

Note: SC/ST candidates are given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility marks.
