What's new at RTU? The University has not released the placement details for 2022. However, the NIRF report 2022 is out, according to which a total of 218 UG and 20 PG students were placed during RTU placements 2021. The median package offered to UG (4 years) students was INR 3.51 LPA, whereas, for PG (2 years), it was INR 3.28 LPA. 

Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is a public university located in the Kota district of Rajasthan and came into existence in 2006. The University is established on the campus of the University College of Engineering, Kota. It is approved by AICTE and is also recognised by UGC. At present, the University affiliates about 72 BTech colleges, 03 BArch, 17 MCA colleges, 38 MBA colleges, 31 MTech colleges, 01 March, and 01 Hotel Management & Catering institute. RTU offers a wide range of UG, PG, and doctoral courses at its department as well as affiliated colleges, namely BTech, BArch, BHMCT, MTech, MArch, MBA, MCA, and PhD. RTU has 11 departments/ centers that offer BTech, MTech, MBA, and PhD in numerous specialisations in its own campus.

RTU runs web portals that carry forward the Centralised Admission Process for each programme. The University provides campus placement opportunities to its students. Some of the recruiters that participated in the placement drive in the past were Sapient, Nuclear Energy Institute, Larsen & Tourbo, Accenture, and many more. Students can also seek financial assistance from the University based on their merit or need.

RTU offers only four programmes at its University Department. At the UG level, RTU offers BTech programme in 11 specialisations, with a total intake capacity of 570. Some of the BTech courses are self-financed and others are government-aided. At the PG level, RTU courses include MTech in 12 specialisations and MBA in five specialisations. The University also runs PhD programme in Engineering and Management. The table below mentions the fee structure and specialisations for RTU courses:

The application cum registration process for RTU admission to BTech programme is ongoing. All the important dates are mentioned in the table below:

RTU admission process for all the courses is carried out through different web portals. For BTech admission, candidates have to visit the  Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) portal, which conducts the admission and counselling process. MTech and MBA admission are taken through Centralized Admission for MTech/ MArch (CAM) and Rajasthan Management Admission Process (RMAP), respectively. Candidates seeking admission to PhD programme have to apply through RTU DAT (Doctoral Admission Test) portal. 

The final selection to all the courses is made on the basis of qualifying entrance exam score. However, for RTU admission to MTech having a GATE score is not mandatory (except MSc/ MCA degree holders). The University conducts Doctoral admission test followed by an interview for admission to PhD programme. Diploma pass-out candidates can also seek later entry admission to BTech programmes through LEEP (Lateral Entry in Engineering Program). As per the University Department website of RTU, more than 400 students get scholarships under various government schemes every year and close to 200 students get financial assistance from numerous NGOs and organisations. Rajasthan Technical University also offers scholarships to its students. A few of the RTU scholarships are mentioned below:

Apart from the above-mentioned scholarships, the University also runs externally funded projects for Research students. This external funding is associated with CSIR, UGC, DST, ISRO, DRDO, AICTE, DAE, and Ministry.
