Established 1993 Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) is Deemed University at Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu. The Ministry of Human Resources Development declared the institution a 'Deemed University' under Section 3 of the UGC Act in 1993. The campus is in Kancheepuram Chennai, housing an ayurveda college, research centre and a hospital. The Deemed University has a unique focus on integrating traditional knowledge with modern scientific practices with a global outlook. SCSVMV has collaborations with national and international institutes, such as French Institute of Pondicherry, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, IIT Madras. The campus is spread across 50 acre of lush green land. The deemed University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree in various streams of Engineering & Technology, Management, Human Resources & Commerce, Arts & Humanities, Science, Education, Health Science and Sanskrit & Indian Culture. It also offers few certification prrogrammes such as Big Data Analytics, Robottics, GPU Computing with CUDA C programming to name a few.

SCSVMV Deemed University Deemed University’s eLearning facility provide lecture videos locally within the Campus Network to ensure that students can watch the lectures even without the need to connect to the Internet. The cloud hosting, facility via Computing Centre provides sub-domains without any additional cost.

The library of the Deemed University is spread across an area of 7,500 square feet with three floors and two lakh books, periodicals and electronic services including digital library. The campus has a full-fledged branch of Indian Bank with ATM facility available. There are various deemed University funded research project taking place in the campus. A low-cost affordable Student-Version Absorption Spectro-photometer’ has been developed under such projects.

The Deemed University invites applications for admission in both online and offline modes. It offers UG, PG and doctoral courses in various streams. The admission is either on University/ state/national level entrance based or on merit- based criteria. Few of the highlights for SCSVMV admission process are as below:

UG Courses:

• Admission to BE / BTech is done through AISEEE 2020/ JEE Mains / Uni-Gauge 2020 scores are also acceptable
• Other UG courses like BA, BBA, BSC, BCA, B.Ed. admissions are done on merit basis

PG Courses:

• Admission to MBA programme is done if a candidate is qualified in National Level Entrance exam i.e. CAT 2019 / MAT 2020 / XAT 2020 / ATMA 2020 / JCET 2020 or the entrance exam conducted by SCSVMV
• Admission to MTech is based on GATE 2020 score, whereas admissions are merit-based for MSc, MCom, MCA and MA
• Admission to BAMS is done on the basis of NEET 2020 score

Research Courses

• PhD/ MPhil: Admission to For MPhil and PhD is based on postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate. Admission to these courses is subject to scores in the entrance test, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round
• There is a relaxation of five per cent for students belonging to SC/ ST category for all courses

SCSVMV offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research level programmes in various streams like Engineering & Technology, Management, Human Resources & Commerce, Arts & Humanities, Science, Education, Health Science and Sanskrit & Indian Culture. The SCSVMV Deemed University scholarships are merit-based/ ranks–based in the entrance exams. The terms for availaing scholarships are:

• The student should maintain a minimum of 85 per cent attendance every semester
• The student should acquire a minimum GPA of 7.5 every semester and should not have any arrears
