Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (also known as SSPU and formerly known as Symbiosis Skills and Open University or SSOU), is a private university established by the Symbiosis Open Education Society in 2017. The university is recognised by the UGC and is located in Pune. It is ranked 26-50 by the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA 2020). SSPU has 12 schools offering 19 courses at UG, PG and diploma-level. The courses are offered across multiple streams like Engineering, Architecture, Science, etc. Besides, SSPU also offers certificates under short-term bridge courses.

SSPU has collaboration with 15 companies. Besides, the university conducted its first placement drive in 2021. In the Symbiosis Skills and Professional University placements 2021, all the participating 1,460 students got selected. The placement was attended by over 100 companies. SSPU offers 19 courses at UG, PG and diploma level in multiple streams like Engineering, Management, Science, etc. The university has 10 schools offering BTech, BBA, BSc and BArch at UG level and MTech, MSc and MDes at PG level. UG courses except BTech and BArch are of three-year duration. BTech is a four-year course offered in four specialisations. MTech and MDes are PG courses offered for a duration of two-year each. Additionally, SSPU also offers UG and PG diploma courses.

The university accepts national and state-level exams like NATA, JEE Main, MHT-CET, etc. for admission to some of the courses. For UG diploma, PG diploma, MSc, BSc, MDes and BBA, the university offers admission based on the merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam and their performance in the personal interview. Note: As per university guidelines, the total fee above includes 15% annual increment for a few courses. However, this might be subject to change. For further details, please visit the official website. The above fee except for MSc includes refundable fee worth Rs 10,000. Students will receive the amount at the time of course completion, as per university guidelines.

SSPU conducts the application process via online mode. Candidates need to pay a registration fee of INR 1,000 for MSc. Below-mentioned is the step-wise SSPU application process for all the courses:

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSPU-www.ssou.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the admissions tab and select ‘Apply for Admission’

Step 3: Then click on the 'My profile' section and register with all the basic information

Step 4: Fill the application form by entering personal and qualification details

Step 5: Submit the application form by uploading your qualifying examination documents

Step 6: Pay the application fee online via debit/ credit cards/ internet banking/ wallets

Symbiosis Skills and Professional University conducted a placement drive in 2021 with 1,460 participating students. There was 100% placement as given in the official website of the university. The placement was attended by more than 100 companies. Top recruiters in the SSPU placement were TATA Motors, Max, Raymond, Reliance Smart, Flipkart, ONP Hospitals, etc.

SSPU offers first-year admission scholarships for students in selected programmes. The university conducts Symbiosis Scholarship Test (SST) to select aspirants based on their test score and availability of seats reserved for a scholarship.

Symbiosis Skills and Professional University offers state-of-the-art architecture of 15 acre with specialised classrooms, laboratories, workshops and multiple centres for skill training.
