VIT Bhopal University offers Semester Abroad Programme (SAP) and International Transfer Programme (ITP) that aim at encouraging students to pursue a semester (6 months) in one of the reputed international universities abroad. All the credits earned in that semester will be transferred to the VIT Bhopal University post completion of the programme. Students from VIT Bhopal University are also offered with opportunities to spend up to six months as interns with partner universities in Australia, Canada, Brazil, China, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, Korea, The Netherlands, UK, USA and other countries.

Admission to all the programmes at VIT Bhopal is entrance-based. Every year, candidates are required to appear for a common entrance exam called VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) for admission to all the UG programmes such as BTech and BBA. The test contains 125 multiple choice questions that have to be answered in two and a half hours. VIT Bhopal University admission process is conducted in online mode only. Selection depends on the rank obtained based on the scores and through the further counseling rounds. But, due to the Coronavirus pandemic this year, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has cancelled the VITEEE 2020 exam. Now, the admission of students will be based on Class 12/pre-university marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology for BTech.

UG Courses

• VIT Bhopal BTech admission is based on a valid VITEEE rank (calculated as per system-generated algorithm based on Class 12 marks)
• Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent)
• Students with valid JEE Main or SAT scores will be given weightage
• Admission to BBA is based on VITEEE rank through a cumulative score obtained in merit of Class 12 or equivalent and Personal Interview (PI)

PG Courses

• Admission to MTech is done through Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) scores, followed by PI

• Direct admission to GATE-qualified Students for MTech

PhD Courses

• Candidates seeking admission to PhD must appear for Vellore Institute of Research Entrance Examination (VITREE), followed by PI
• PhD admission is offered in full-time as well as part-time modes
• Candidates, who have already qualified CSIR NET or UGC NET, will get a direct call for PI
